Confessions of a Scary Mommy is hilariously, outrageously truthful about the hardest job I know. Put this book at the top of your diaper bag!”
With chapters like “Yes, You’ll Shit on the Delivery Table” and “I Hate Other People’s Kids,” Confessions of a Scary Mommy is sure to be the buzz this Mother’s Day. You can read a sample of the first two chapters here. Scary mommies of the world, unite!

Good for you ,its so nice to see that someone does not need to be blood to care about someone.I know how hard it is to get custody of a child ,and yo9u did it for your stepgranddaughter. This wlould be just as comendable(spelling?) if she was your blood granddaughter ,but even more so knowing she isn’t ,thats wonderful .I grew up in a household with a stepmother who did not once let me forget that we weren’t blood related.Good luck to you and your grandaughter I wish you the absolute best .I hope you win too ,and if you don’t then i hope i come in second . but seriously you deserve it more than me .blessed wishes to you and your family ,you sound like a wonderful woman .

After giving up $25k in yearly income to move closer to my daughter, she held my hand at the zoo and said to me “daddy, you moved all the way down here for me” I said “of course I did baby, daddy loves you”, her reply sent tears to my eyes, she said “I’m happy now daddy”. She was 3 and is now 5. Wicked awesome moment I will never forget and the extra money I made before I could care less about.
Sincerely,
Brad Chartier
sorry about all the run-on sentences.

I am always looking at my husband when my kids are doing something odd, and say “Our kids are so WEIRD”. The other day I did a silly dance to make them laugh, and my 3yo daughter bursts out with “Mommy, you’re so WEEEEIIIIIIRRRRDDDD!”

My favorite mommy moment is watching my youngest daughter wake up her older sister, who she adores. When my youngest addy wakes up, she is immediately looking for her older sister hailey. She goes to find her, and sits on her to wake her up while saying sissy sissy sissy, this happens about 3 times a week. I love watching my girls together.

Yikes. Well, ONE of my favorite Mommy Moments was flying with my son when he was perhaps 3-ish. He was already very accustomed to the routine of air travel and is still a great traveler to this day. The lady next to him started a conversation, “I get butterflies in my stomach every time I fly. Do you have butterflies?” He replied, ” Yes. Mine are black. What color are yours?” I stifled my laughter as she promptly turned around to gaze aimlessly out the window. I love my strange child; he is perfectly perfect!

my favorite Daddy moment. I came home to find Daddy asleep on the couch with his big red earmuffs on, the kind so you can not hear anything. With the baby girl on his belly also now asleep but crying earlier.

Favorite mommy moment was last month when i took my very first night out on my own away from all my kids that lasted more then just an hour. I went to Denny’s with my sister in law, and came home a few hours later. The moment I walked in the door, the 3 littlest ones (ages 3 and twins 19months) all shouted “MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!”. Made me feel so loved! Must be doing something right!

My favorite mommy moment? It’s a simple one, but oh so sweet. When my kids are ready to go to sleep, I tuck them in, turn out the lights and then…I hear them say, “Good night, Mom. I love you.” And sometimes, my youngest will say, “I love you so, so, so, so, so, so much.” It’s priceless.

April 9, 2012 at 7:19 pm
I think my favorite moment of being a mommy was the day I delivered my oldest son, who is now 24. I didn’t know I was in labor but went to the hospital because I thought I had the flu. Got there and delivered him in less than 15 minutes (no contractions, just puke). All the prenatal tests, including an amniocentesis, said it was a girl. When the Dr said “you have a beautiful, red haired baby boy” my comment was “are you sure?”…he still gets a kick out of it.
