Giuliana and Bill Register for Cord Blood Registry Elizabeth Messina

Top Trends in Baby Gifts! Why Giuliana and Bill Rancic Registered for Cord Blood Registry? Just like any other mom, celebrity moms have a lot to juggle – baby, career and household chores.  Even before baby arrives, there are dozens of choices to make daily, and believe us, celebrity moms struggle with those decisions just like you.

Now, more than ever, we’re seeing Hollywood moms make one pre-due date decision almost effortlessly: umbilical cord banking. This isn’t just a hot trend – this is a gift for your family that you’ll keep long after baby gadgets and clothes are outgrown.

Cord blood stem cells are being used today to help cure diseases like leukemia and certain other cancers, while both cord blood and tissue are being researched for their potential in regenerative therapies to help the body repair itself in traumatic brain injury or cartilage damage. (FYI: siblings have an up to 25% chance of being a match so if you didn’t bank your first baby’s cord blood it is even more important to bank your second or third.)

Banking your newborn’s cord blood and tissue may be popular in Hollywood, but it doesn’t come with a celebrity price tag. In fact, you can add the cost of banking to your baby registry, along with those onsies and Diaper Genies. Celebrity parents Giuliana and Bill Rancic added cord blood banking with CBR to their baby wish list. This baby registry program allows friends and family to contribute towards the total cost of banking. It also allows your loved ones to get involved by learning why cord blood banking is so important to your growing family.

Giuliana tells Hollywood Hot Moms “Cord blood banking with CBR is the best baby shower gift because Bill and I, just like any parent to be, want a healthy future for our family.  Many people have a family history of diseases that can be treated with stem cells.  We want other pregnant women out there to get educated on the importance of banking at cordblood.com. It is so important!”

CBR is the largest, most experienced stem cell bank, entrusted by families worldwide, with more than 425,000 children’s newborn stem cells saved at their Tucson, Arizona laboratory. CBR has stored for more families and released more units for medical use than any other family bank. Their Center for Regenerative Medicine offers clients exclusive access to groundbreaking FDA-regulated clinical trials.

So join in on this trend and get yourself educated on your cord blood banking options!

We used CBR for both our babies. I don’t think I could have lived with myself if I hadn’t and something would have happened. I’d totally recommend any moms struggling with costs to create a fund for it, because really… how many cute outfits or toys are worth that potentially life saving cord bloood if heaven forbid it’s ever needed?

I love CBR! It was a no-brainer to register when I gave birth 5 years ago, but I was shown how important it was when my SIL received a special phone call last. She decided to donate the core blood from my niece’s birth and last year CBR called her to let her know that they found a perfect match for a little girl who really needed it. xx

Great shower gift. We didn’t do it because we had read something at the time that said it was unnecessary and a fad. After reading Shelby’s comment, I don’t think this is the case.

We banked both of our children’s cord blood…I couldn’t imagine how I’d feel if I actually needed it and didn’t do it….
