Women are beautiful creatures.
Skin is a Permeable Membrane. Up to 60% of what you put on your skin gets absorbed into your bloodstream (think nicotine patch).
Buyer Beware. Contrary to popular belief, cosmetics/skin care products are NOT tested for safety before hitting store shelves. Cosmetic manufacturers have to list ingredients on their product labels, but it’s up to you, oh wise consumer, to understand what these ingredients are. The new INCI (International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients) language mandated by Health Canada is a fancy latin sounding language. You need to do your research to understand what those words mean and whether or not you want those ingredients on/in your body.
Common Sense. Let’s face it, no amount of expensive skin cream or make up is really going to drastically improve the look of our skin (maybe in the very short term, but not likely). Your skin is mostly determined by your genetics (mom had great skin, lucky you probably do too), environmental factors (work in the sun or smog all day?), diet (you are what you eat) and exercise. Adding products topically won’t give you an edge over these more influential factors.
So come on Hot Moms, it’s time to take a stand against all those brilliant marketing ploys trying to convince you just how beautiful you will be after you spend $$$ on product XXX that will do who knows what to your body. Take a stand. Get informed. Do your research and spend you hard earned money wisely. Use less.
Embrace your true, natural, bare naked beauty!
